Javier Calleja has been replaced by the former Arsenal head coach

Villarreal have announced that Unai Emery is their new manager after signing a three-year contract. The former Arsenal head coach will replace Javier Calleja in the Yellow Submarine's dugout. This despite Calleja leading Villarreal to European football next season.

Emery has been out of work ever since he was sacked by Arsenal. He does come with a vast amount of experience, particularly in Spain. Emery has coached Almeria, Valencia and Sevilla. He hasn't quite lived up to expectations outside of his home country though with disappointing stints in charge of PSG and Arsenal.

Emery will be officially presented to the media on Monday.
