The RFEF chief did not like the Barca coach's comments about the Super Cup

Spanish football federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales hit back at Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde after his comments about the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

"I'm satisfied," said Rubiales to Movistar. "This Super Cup is good and important for the teams that are taking part and for professional teams in Spain because there is a big income.

"(Valverde's comments about guest teams) is respectable but here there are no guest teams. We said in February that the finalists of the Copa and the top two in La Liga would come, and if any repeated, it would be done by coefficient. His club agreed with the new format."

He was also pleased with the tournament in general. "We knew the Super Cup would go from being a little thing in the summer to being a very important tournament. It's the most important small tournament in the world, because no other brings these big clubs."
