Sevilla determined to renew Jules Kounde's contract
After seeing off City's interest, the Andalusians want to lock down the main man
What a great signing Jules Kounde was for Sevilla. He arrived from Bordeaux for 25 million euros and the 21 year old defender has shown what a genius Monchi is again. He had a great season last year and City bid 55m euros for him in the window, but Sevilla kept the Frenchman.
Sevilla want to jump up a level after winning the Europa League. For that, they need Kounde to stay and lead the defence for many years. He has a contract until 2024 and a 90m euro release clause and is not one of the best-paid players at the club.
The Andalusians want to change all that, adding a year onto his deal, per Muchodeporte. He is currently happy at Sevilla and he is thought to be willing to sign an extension - which would raise that release clause.
