The former Real Madrid defender has made an emotional return to his boyhood club

Official. Sergio Ramos and Sevilla join forces again 18 years after his signing for Real Madrid. The defender signs a one-year contract plus an optional additional year depending on objectives.

The Spanish centre-back finished his contract with Paris Saint-Germain in June and has been looking for a team all summer. In recent weeks, he has received big offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, but his dream of waiting for Sevilla has been rewarded.

Ramos will return to the Sánchez Pizjuán, which has not always received him in the best way in recent years. We will have to wait and see if the reunion between Sergio and Sevilla is the one the player dreamed of or if, on the contrary, it is more complicated than we might expect.

In any case, Sevilla have conceded eight goals in the first three rounds of LaLiga and are the only team in the league yet to score, so the signing of Ramos will bolster a backline that is in a precarious state.
