The coach only called up three Barcelona players, Pedri, Gavi and Alejandro Balde

After the departure of Luis Enrique and the confirmation of the arrival of Luis de la Fuente until 2024 just a few weeks ago, the Riojan has named his first Spain squad this morning. It’s a list where there are some surprises and also some notable absences with respect to what had been Luis Enrique's call-ups. Only three azulgranas: Gavi, Pedri and Balde. Ansu, Ferran, Jordi Alba and Eric Garcia are left out.

Luis de la Fuente has called up 26 players who will represent Spain in the matches against Norway in Malaga (March 25) and Scotland in Glasgow (March 28), in what will be the beginning of the qualification for Euro 2024 in Germany.

This is Luis de la Fuente's first list of called-up players as Spanish national team coach:

Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Robert Sánchez, David Raya.

Defenders: Gayà, Balde, Laporte, Íñigo Martínez, Nacho, David García, Porro, Carvajal

Midfielders: Rodri, Zubimendi, Gavi, Fabián, Merino, Ceballos, Pedri

Strikers: Morata, Olmo, Nico Williams, Bryan Gil, Oyarzabal, Aspas, Joselu and Gerard Moreno
