The new coach is going to reveal his men for the qualifiers

Spain begin a new era this Friday. After the departure of Luis Enrique and the confirmation of the arrival of Luis de la Fuente as the new coach until 2024, the Riojan will offer his first squad list (11.30 am) through the social networks of the Federation, before appearing before the media one hour later. Spain face Norway in Malaga (25/3) and Scotland (28/3) in Glasgow at the start of the qualifiers for Euro 24 in Germany.

A call-up that is awaited with great expectation as there will be changes with respect to the players who went to World Cup 2022. Whether it’s personal decisions, such as the retirement of Busquets, or the loss of prominence of some players in their teams, big changes are expected.

For starters, Luis de la Fuente will change captain. Sergio Busquets announced his retirement and ruled out Sergio Ramos. The next in line would be Jordi Alba, although his presence is very doubtful due to his substitution at Barça. Koke or Morata could be some of the candidates, although their presence is not certain either.

The coach will give his own style to La Roja. He will not be as rigid as Luis Enrique in the choice of players and, in principle, his bet will focus on players who are in good form and with continuity in their teams.

The range of new candidates is very wide. From the goalkeeping team with Unai Simon injured and Robert Sanchez on the bench at Brighton, Kepa, Remiro or even De Gea could come in. At the back, even more changes are expected. Rodri will return to the pivot and Laporte is not playing for City. Eric Garcia does not have too many minutes at Barça either, like Azpilicueta at Chelsea, so players like Pedro Porro, David García or Iñigo Martínez could get a place. On the left side, Balde has a fixed spot and back-ups could be Gayà, Álex Moreno, Fran García or Galán.

In midfield, Rodri and Zubimendi can be supported by Mikel Merino and, of course, Gavi and Pedri as concrete pillars of the team. In attack, De la Fuente is in favor of having a pure '9'. In addition to Morata, Joselu or Borja Iglesias could come in. Ferran has more chance than Ansu to be selected.
