The Barcelona midfielder has spoken to TUDN while on the club's Mexico tour

Save her initial social media post, Alexia Putellas has spoken out for the first time about the situation with Luis Rubiales, Jenni Hermoso and the reactions at the RFEF.

Beyond the tweet she posted with the lapidary phrase 'it's over', the Barcelona player has given her first interview to explain her vision of the events that took place with the suspended president.

Speaking to TUDN, Alexia answered questions from journalist Marc Crosas during Barça's tour of Mexico.

"We all want the same thing, that there is respect for our profession as there has been for so many years in the men's game," she said.

"We are fighting for that. It's clear that unity among the players is the first step, and I will always defend the fact that a player is a player.

"But my generation has had to be more than just players to achieve that. The legacy we want to leave is that they no longer have to worry about these things. Our job is not to be in meetings to get better infrastructures, better facilities."

Finally, Alexia wanted to send a message to the institutions so that they are the ones who lead the fight for improvements in women's football.

"We need executives and institutions to fight for this so that we can focus on what we like and what we believe people deserve," she added.
