Vinicius Junior statement after Sevilla racist abuse
Vinicius Jr was the victim of another racist incident at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán against Sevilla, a match in which several individuals made monkey-like gestures from the stands. In response, the Real Madrid player has issued a statement on social media:
This is Vinicius' full statement:
"Congratulations to Sevilla for the swift action and sanction in another sad episode for Spanish football."
"Unfortunately I have access to a video of another racist at this Saturday's match, this time by a girl. It is a shame that there is no one to educate her. I invest a lot in education in Brazil to form citizens with different attitudes".
"The face of today's racist is stamped on the web pages like so many other times. I hope the Spanish authorities will do their part and change the legislation for once. These people also need to be criminally punished."
"It would be a great first step to prepare for the 2030 World Cup. I am here to help.
"Sorry to sound repetitive, but this is episode number 19... And counting...".

The match ended in a 1-1 draw between Real Madrid and Sevilla. Carlo Ancelotti's side dropped two key points in the fight for the lead, with a week to go before the Clásico against FC Barcelona.
