Real Madrid now have a deadline to find Zidane's replacement
President Perez is struggling to find a new coach for Los Blancos
The clock doesn't stop. Minute follows minute, hour follows hour. And since May 31, when Zinedine Zidane handed in his resignation, Real Madrid have been without a coach.
There have been names. Lots. From Allegri to Klopp, passing through Pochettino, Conte, Michel, Fernando Hierro and many others like Mourinho, Lopetegui, Blanc... At the top of the bookies' favourites right now? Guti. Yes, Guti.
Despite his lack of top-level experience as a coach, the former Madrid player is the best placed on Florentino Perez's list, although Brazil coach Tite has surfaced over the weekend -- an appointment which could precede the signing of Neymar.
However, the only thing crystal clear is that Perez is in a rush to find a boss. All of the media in Madrid are in agreement: the search cannot extend beyond next weekend.
OK Diario say June 15 (Friday) is Perez's deadline to find Zidane's replacement, for example. Replacing the French coach will not be easy, though, and the chosen one will need to control a dressing room full of egos which hasn't always been easy to manage.
