Mir has been scoring goals for fun for Valencia's second team

He will join Madrid's second team's push for promotion to Segunda A

According to 'El Bernabéu', Real Madrid will sign Valencia's Rafa Mir in January. The youngster is one of the stars of Los Che's academy and his contract expires in 2018. Florentino Perez is close to signing the player at a low cost, given his terms are so close to ending.

Rafa Mir, 20, is one of the players on the brink of the first team. However, due to his reluctance to renew, he's been left in Valencia Mestalla, where he's scored 15 goals in 17 games. Now he will have the chance to move to Madrid, where he will play for the second team in Segunda B. He will add quality as they look to regain promotion to the second tier of Spanish football.

Mateu Alemany, Valencia's sporting director, has not hidden Mir's intentions: "“With Rafa, there’s a good understanding and we hope to find a good solution for everyone in the January window.”

Alemany added: "He has a contract until June, for complicated reasons to explain he didn't renew when he should have, which is now a long time ago. It's a complicated situation because his performances are good. We have a good understanding with him and hope to find a good situation for all involved."
