Madrid directors have spoke with Gremio at the Club World Cup

Los Blancos want to make things as difficult as possible for Barça

Real Madrid want to get involved in the signing of Brazilian midfielder Arthur, wanted by Barcelona. Madrid have been in touch with Gremio while at the Club World Cup to speak about Arthur, with the two sides set to face each other in the final in Abu Dhabi.

While Barça plan to send a delegation next week to close a deal for Arthur, Madrid want to haly the operation. According to Marca on Friday, Madrid have been told by Gremio they can sign him for 50 million euros (his release clause).

Arthur's a player that's well liked by Madrid. They feel he would be an interesting addition to the side, while also preventing rivals Barça from strengthening in the process -- as was the case with Danilo and Vinicius Jr.

Andre Zanotta, a Gremio executive, recognised, according to Marca, that Gremio won't prevent Arthur from fulfilling his dream of moving to Europe, although the club hope to keep him until 2020.

Arthur will not feature against Madrid in the Club World Cup final because of an injury.
