Winning LaLiga has given Zidane's side a major confidence boost going into the European calendar

Real Madrid are another side who are getting ready to finish off their Round of 16 tie in two weeks time. Although unlike Barça, Madrid have to overturn a first leg defeat after Manchester City walked away from the Santiago Bernabeu with a 2-1 victory.

Yet winning like LaLiga has given Zinedine Zidane's side a much needed confidence boost heading into the second leg. Los Blancos don't have an easy route to the final even if they manage to overturn the loss to City. They'll face the winners of Juventus-Lyon and potentially Barça or Bayern in the semi-finals.

The side City faced at the Bernabeu won't be the same one which rolls up in Manchester. They had lost two and drawn one of their previous four matches. That poor run of form was compounded when Madrid lost 2-1 against Betis and with it their place at the top of the league.

A 'new' Madrid

Zidane has overseen a drastic upturn in form since the restart. Madrid won 10 matches in a row as they overturned Barça's lead at the top and claimed the league title. It's a team which is a lot stronger in defence and feels united. They won't go into the match against City with any fear. Although they must do without Sergio Ramos but there's hope Eden Hazard will be fit and ready to start.

Another advantage for Madrid is their vast experience in Europe. Zidane will say the reaction of his players in July is proof they are able to successfully deal with quickfire matches.
