Madrid lose Varane to injury in Liga game against Eibar

Real Madrid lost Raphael Varane to injury during Saturday's game against Eibar. The France international had to be taken off in the first half after a clash with Kike Garcia in the air which left both players grounded. 

Varane appeared to come off worse, though, and had to be attended to immediately on the pitch. He played on for a couple of minutes but then asked to be substituted. 

Zinedine Zidane's struggled with problems in defence this season, with Varane missing a number of games through injury and Sergio Ramos also having fitness problems. 

Nacho Fernandez was brought in place of Varane here, who looked to go off as a precaution as much as anything else after his clash of heads.
