There are calls for the Welshman to be dropped for Vinicius

Real Madrid interim coach Santiago Solari spoke to the press ahead of Saturday's game against Real Valladolid, his first in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Argentine's answers were routine, save the mention of the name Gareth Bale. Solari took advantage to subtly ask for more from the Welsh forward, with calls for Vinicius Jr. to replace him.

"He's in the spotlight," he said of Bale. "And we all expect him to show his enormous quality in every game. We want to enjoy him every day."

That was his way of asking Bale to be more decisive on a regular basis and to appear more often when it matters.

Solari added: "There are never any undisputed starters in any team, because there are injuries, dips in performances... There are player with a lot of experience who have played many games. They have survived a lot of battles. And there are young players that stand out for the age they are."
