Kroos also denies that Ramos deliberately tried to hurt Salah in the Champions League final and that it wasn't even a foul

Real Madrid's central midfielder Toni Kroos has given an interview to German magazine 'Augsburger Allgemeine' ahead of the World Cup in Russia. The player talked about various subjects whilst also defending his Real Madrid teammate, Sergio Ramos, who has been involved in controversy following the injuries to Mohamed Salah and Loris Karius in the Champions League final.

Ramos has been accused of being a player who plays on the limit and was openly criticised by Egypt's manager Hector Cuper. "I'm sure there wasn't any intention to injure him," says Kroos on the clash between Salah and Ramos.

"They didn't even signal for a foul, something that could've happened. Sergios Ramos isn't aggressive. The experiences from the past have shown over and over again that he isn't. I'm happy that he's our captain (at Real Madrid) and I've never seen anything anti-football from him," added Kroos.

Furthermore, in the last few days a medical report has revealed that Liverpool's goalkeeper Loris Karius played part of the match with a concussion which could've occurred as a result of Ramos accidentally elbowing him.

Ramos, a little irritated by the attacks directed his way, responded with irony when quizzed on the incidences himself.
