Jeers for Benzema as the BBC return for Real Madrid in Depor win

Karim Benzema returned to action on Sunday after being out injured since Real Madrid lost to Barcelona in December. 

The French striker came on for Borja Mayoral in Madrid's 7-1 win over Deportivo La Coruna just after the hour mark. 

When he came on, though, he was received by loud jeers and whistles by the home supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

Benzema's return saw the BBC back together, with the striker re-starting his partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, who both scored twice in the win. 

Since Ap. 23, 2017, when Lionel Messi's late winner earned Barça a Bernabeu win, the three have not played together, 

Injuries and suspensions to Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema have prevented Zinedine Zidane playing them together. 

Against Barça in December, Benzema played for 65 minutes, with Bale only coming on in the 72nd minute. 

In the Club World Cup, they were both available but did not play at the same time. 

Finally, though, 273 days later, Benzema, Bale and Cristiano have been able to line up on the pitch together, even if the supporters were not happy to see Benzema.
