The brutal blow to the face which left Cristiano Ronaldo bleeding

Ronaldo had to leave the field of play after a boot to the face

He had scored two goals as Real Madrid won 7-1 against Depor

Cristiano Ronaldo was forced off the pitch bleeding after receiving a blow to his face after scoring his second goal, Real Madrid's sixth, in a 7-1 win against Deportivo La Coruna at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Ronaldo headed home Casemiro's cross but had the bad fortune of crashing into Schar's boot at the same time, drawing blood from just above eyebrow.

The Portugal forward was unable to celebrate his goal. He quickly realised that his face had been busted open and was attended to by Madrid's medical team.

And while being seen to, he took the medic's mobile phone so that he could check out the damage for himself. Ronaldo did no return to the field of play.

SIXTH GOAl

Ronaldo's double in the 7-1 hammering ended his dry streak in the league. Depor have often been one of his favourite victims and his double took him to six goals in La Liga this season. He has nine in the Champions League. Against Depor, he's previously scored two hat-tricks and now has 13 goals against the Galicians.
