The Real Madrid forward is ready to take on a new challenge away from the Bernabeu

The Qatar World Cup confirmed the footballing decline of Belgium's Eden Hazard.

The forward had his last protector in coach Roberto Martínez, but he did not respond to that confidence deposited in him and both have quit the national team following their group stage exit.

The Catalan coach gave Hazard his final chance to recover his best form for his country, but the Real Madrid player was once again a shadow of the one that shone at Chelsea for so many years.

Now, he accepts his situation and is willing to leave Madrid after four years of setbacks, despite having one year left on his contract.

Hazard has had more minutes with Belgium (327) than with Real Madrid (229) this season. He has started six of the seven games the Red Devils have played, compared with just two of Madrid's 21 matches.

His performances with his country have also disappointed, though. In Beligum, they believe his poor form is caused by the lack of opportunities he gets at Real Madrid.

But both sets of fans -- Real Madrid and Belgium -- agree that Hazard is no longer the one who lit up Chelsea's attack and he assumes that now and is ready to step back.

He is ready to leave Real Madrid. He has several proposals on the table, but he is studying a move to Major League Soccer, according to L' Equipe.

It is the destination that would attract him the most and Madrid are willing to make it easy for him to leave. The problem is his galactic salary, €30 million gross, which could turn off the American teams interested in signing him.

Madrid, as with Gareth Bale in the past, would be willing to pay part of that salary. He has no place in Carlo Ancelotti's team and his departure would leave a space in attack for a player who can contribute more than the Belgian.

In addition to the injuries, the problem attributed to the Belgian striker is his shape. Since he arrived at Real Madrid in the 19-20 season, he has been accused of being overweight, not working hard enough and relying too much on his talent alone.

During four seasons with the club, he has got gradually worse, to the point of undermining the patience of his club, which trusted him until last summer.

They hoped that once his ankle problems had been overcome, he would be the player for whom they paid €116 million, the most expensive in their history, but the wait is coming to an end and the Belgian's departure in the summer, if not before, is taking shape.
