The Real Madrid man was the subject of interest from Italy this summer

Luke Modric has declared against Real Madrid after Florentino Perez reported Inter Milan to FIFA for tapping up the midfielder.

The Croatia star has been strongly linked with a move to Inter this summer and Madrid felt that the Italian club had broken FIFA rules by contacting the player without speaking to them first.

The soap opera ended with Modric remaining with Julen Lopetegui's side with the possibility of renewing his contract in the future.

Madrid never wanted to lose Modric, a key player for them, and always pointed to his 750 million euro buyout clause during the sage.

Los Blancos felt Inter went behind their back with a contracted player, but now, according to Gazzetta, Modric has declated that he was the one who contacted Inter.

He was called by FIFA to clarify the situation and revealed that he wanted the move to the Serie A side to play with international team-mates Perisic, Brozovic and Vrsaljko.

Keeping in mind Modric's comments, Inter have now violated any rules and Madrid's complaint will not go any further.
