Florentino Perez postpones the Bernabeu Trophy
The stadium remodeling means it's on hold for two years
The Santiago Bernabeu remodeling means that Florentino Perez has taken the decision to stop the Trofeo Bernabeu pre-season game until 2021.
This summer it was not played. Last summer on August 11 Real Madrid beat Milan 3-1 at the Bernabeu. Madrid president Perez wants the stadium to be worked on in that period of pre-season.
The game started in 1979, played every year apart from 2014, because of an over-loaded pre-season. It will be the first time the trophy isn't fought for in two consecutive years.
