The Madrid president is strongly against Girona-Barça going to Miami

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is completely against a La Liga game being played in the United States.

La Liga have proposed that Girona's home game against Barcelona in January be played in Miami, with LFP chief Javier Tebas saying there is a "90 percent chance" the fixture's moved to the U.S.

However, the Spanish FA (RFEF) are thought to be against the proposal -- La Liga need their backing -- and Perez is on their side.

"I am absolutely against a team playing one of their home games away from their stadium," the Madrid chief said. "It distorts the competition and I am against it."

It's the same message relaid by Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui, who also said that it would not create a balanced competition.
