Julen Lopetegui has the backing of his squad after the players accepted their errors and acknowledge they aren't performing well at the moment. The coach and his players had a meeting on the plane ride home from Moscow, according to 'El Confidencial'. They analysed the situation and agreed to work together in order to get past this poor run of form.
"Things aren't working out. We're in a difficult moment and the only thing we can do is work harder (to get out of it)," concluded the meeting with the squad. They're aware of their mistakes such as not starting matches with the necessary focus and lacking aggressiveness.

“We need to pick ourselves up and carry on because we aren't that bad," Lopetegui told his players. The coach continues to believe in this squad and his ideas. That is why he asked that they recover their identity and show what they practise in training as it worked at the beginning of the season. Ever since Real Madrid beat Roma 3-0, they lost their edge.
Lopetegui insists that they play as a team and work on their individual roles so the collective improves. He wants them to be more aggressive and transition from defence to attack quicker. There's a concern about the team's lack of goal threat and the decision making in the final third.
