PSG want the Portugal star while Madrid have always been keen on the Brazilian

It may sound like a crazy operation, the typical summer madness, but the names of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Junior, of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, could be involved in a possible swap deal.

Ronaldo's quotes while still on the pitch after Saturday's Champions League final in Kiev opened the door to a possible transfer. Florentino Perez is still not impressed with the forward's comments.

The Madrid president has decided to renew Zinedine Zidane's squad and the list of players who could leave even includes Ronaldo, despite the chants for him to stay among players and fans on Sunday at the Bernabeu.

Perez is waiting to meet with Ronaldo to discuss the situation.

PSG & CRistiano Ronaldo

Diario AS reported on Wednesday that a complicated swap deal could form the base for an operation this summer. PSG would like to sign Ronaldo and are willing to spend 150 million euros on him before giving him a 45 million euro net annual salary.

Madrid, who are fed up of Ronaldo's complaints -- he turns 34 next season, too -- are not against selling him if the offer is right, even though his release clause is 1000 million euros.

However, there are some problems if it's just a straight transfer. In principle, that it would see PSG construct a trident of Neymar, Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid & Neymar

Real Madrid would 'OK' Ronaldo's move to Paris if it served to open up a move for one of PSG's two stars. A condition which would put a check on Nasser Al-Khelaïffi's aspirations -- he wants to arm Thomas Tuchel with a team to win the Champions League.

It's evident that Neymar's their preferred target although they know that PSG don't want to lose the Brazilian, the flagship of their project who cost them 222 million euros just one year ago.

OPTION MbappE

Another matter could be Mbappe. Madrid flirted with the idea of signing him last summer and still like the idea of bringing him in, believing he would be the perfect replacement for the questioned Karim Benzema.

Mbappe would rejuvenate Zinedine Zidane's attack. Meanwhile, it would allow PSG to relieve the pressure being put on them by UEFA to comply with Financial Fair Play Rules. There are also doubts about keeping both Neymar and Mbappe happy, something which has already seen Edinson Cavani sentenced.
