Lyon deepen Paris Saint-Germain's crisis as Ligue 1 leaders lose again

It's now back-to-back defeats for PSG in the league

With just one win in their last four games, Paris Saint-Germain's crisis deepened on Sunday with another disappointment, this time against Lyon at home -- and the Parisian fans booed Lionel Messi when he was announced over the loudspeaker.

Although still leaders, the capital side have raised a lot of doubts since Bayern Munich knocked them out of the Champions League. The defeat against Rennes confirmed Galtier's hesitancy in the dugout, which was only going to be solved with a convincing victory against Lyon.

However, nothing could have been further from the truth at the Parc des Princes. Laurent Blanc's side came out looking to spring a surprise against the leaders and had the means to do so in the first half after a childish penalty from Donnarumma on Lacazette. The striker himself took the spot-kick, but crashed his effort against the right-hand post.

In the second half, the script remained the same and it was the 'Lions' who imposed the rhythm, finding the prize of the goal. A cross from the right by Kumbedi reached Barcola, who made no mistake with his left foot to make it 0-1.

From then on it was more desire than football from Galtier's side looking for an equaliser. Lyon closed ranks to defend Anthony Lopes' goal and took the points, moving them closer to Europe and their opponents sunk despite still being top of the league by six points.
