The French coach feels he is not dealt with fairly

Arsene Wenger feels he's discriminated against because of his age. In an interview with beIN Sports, the Arsenal coach hit out at te criticism he has increasingly faced in recent years.

"I accept if the results are not good enough then you have to take the consequences," he said.

"But overall that perpetual thing how long you been at a club, how old you are, I find that a bit difficult to take. The older you get, the more it becomes age discrimination."

And the French coach doesn't feel valued after 22 years in charge of Arsenal: "When you age, you focus on doing well for your club and ignore all the rest.

“I’m a little bit fed up of all that modern thing about being completely taking care of image. I’ve always worked my whole life about with the idea of who you are rather than how you look so I’m not too concerned about that.”

Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League, miles off the pace set by Manchester City, and Wenger's job is once again under scrutiny.

After losing the League Cup final to City and being knocked out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest, the Gunners' hopes for the season now lie in the Europa League.
