Liverpool want to sign Celta Vigo & Spain U21 midfielder Gabri Veiga

| sport

Veiga had a breakout season in LaLiga and is wanted by many top clubs this summer

A few days ago, a supposed offer from Liverpool was leaked for Celta Vigo's star midfielder Gabri Veiga, worth around 30 million euros.

However, according to the 'Daily Mail', the Reds have not yet put the money on the table and continue to prepare their first approach, although the British press do add it will be essential for the team to sign another midfielder this summer.

The arrival of Alexis Mac Allister was already an answer to Jürgen Klopp's needs, but the departure of Fabio Carvalho on loan will mean bringing in another man in midfield.

A product of Celta's youth set-up, Veiga enjoyed a great season in the first team last season, scoring 11 times in 36 LaLiga appearances and establishing himself as a regular starter.

The Galician club's clause for the player is 40 million euros, a figure they are taking into account at Anfield to try to attract the midfielder who is currently with Spain U21s at the European Championships.

His present is bright and his future is even brighter, so much so that other 'big' European clubs such as Chelsea are also keen. It will be a matter of time before we know which way the balance will tip, but the Reds will not take long to make their move.
