BBC: Barcelona have enquired about Manchester City's Angeliño
Angeliño, who spent last season on loan with RB Leipzig, could be a replacement for Jordi Alba or Junior Firpo
FC Barcelona are interested in Manchester City's left-back Angeliño according to various media outlets in England. The Spanish defender, who spent last season on loan with RB Leipzig, would be available for around €30m.
Angeliño arrived at City in the summer of 2014 before signing for PSV in 2018. Last summer, City activated their buy-back option on the left-back for €7m before Pep Guardiola decided he should be loaned out for the second half of the season. Following Leipzig's exit from the Champions League, he will now return to Manchester.
The Spanish full-back has spent most of his time at City on loan to various clubs such as New York City, Girona, Mallorca and NAC Breda.
Leipzig had the option to buy Angeliño for the same price City want this summer, €30m, but they opted not to make a bid.
It remains to be seen whether that interest from Barça is backed up with a formal offer and who he would replace in the current squad. Jordi Alba is the first choice left-back at the moment but could be moved on as part of the rebuilding process at the Camp Nou. Alba's competition for that starting spot, Junior Firpo, has failed to establish himself at Barça.
