Iniesta won the European Cup four times before leaving for Japan

Speaking from him new home in Japan, Andres Iniesta confessed he would like to have won more Champions Leagues during his spell with FC Barcelona.

The now Vissel Kobe midfielder, in an interview quoted on Goal, won four European Cups with the Catalans but feels the club deserved more during that time.

"I don't feel angry," he said. "Of course I would have like to have won more, though. Who wouldn't? It is true that at Barça in recent years we had the squad to do more, but the fans have to be proud of what we've achieved because that's made people happy."

Real Madrid's four Champions League in five years -- including the last three -- is one of the reasons Barça's success in Europe since 2006 has lost some of its value.

"Madrid have won the Champions League, they're happy about that but not about not winning the [domestic] leagues which have been won by another team," Iniesta added.

In their first season without Iniesta, Barça are on track for another league table. They host Atletico Madrid on Saturday with an eight point lead at the top over Diego Simeone's side. A win could prove decisive in the title race.

Iniesta said: "There are still a lot of points to play for. From far away I don't see football like I have done for so long. The time difference catches me out and means I can't follow all the games. You learn about the results through the news or messages..."
