The former Barcelona captain, Andres Iniesta, got off the mark for Vissel Kobe with one of the best goals of his illustrious career.
Vissel faced Jubilo, who they beat 2-1, and it was Iniesta who gave them the lead in the 15 minutes thanks to an assist from Lucas Podolski.
The midfielder beautifully took the ball and turned his marker before unleashing an effort past Jubilo's goalkeeper Krzysztof Kaminski.
Iniesta's goal sent the home supporters in the stands wild, as Vissel moved up to sixth in the standings.
Kyogo Furuhashi scored Vissel's second goal but Kengo Kawamanta reduced the lead to a single goal for the final six minutes.
