Start date confirmed for 2018/19 La Liga season: August 18
The Spanish top flight season will run from the middle of August until May 26
SPORT have had access to next season's calendar, which has already been drawn up by La Liga but must be ratified by the AFE and the RFEF at a later date.
The league season in Spain's top flight will start the weekend 18/19 August, which is around the same date as recent seasons.
As for the Spanish Super Cup, the first leg will be in Seville on 11 August and the second leg in Barcelona on 14 August.
There will be a brief break for Christmas between 23 December and 2 Janauary, however, there are still talks about games taking place over New Year.
DATES FOR THE CALENDAR:
- La Liga will start the weekend 18/19 August and end on 26 May
- Spanish Super Cup: August 11, August 14
- Midweek fixtures: September 26, April 3, April 24
- Free weeks: Wednesday 19 December (unless a club in Club World Cup), January (unless a club in Club World Cup and a potential rival), 15 May, 22 May.
