The new era has arrived. If Amazon has the Premier League, Facebook weren't going to wait far behind. The social media giant has reached a deal with La Liga to broadcast direct and free all the games in the next three seasons in south Asia.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will have free Liga content, albeit at the expense of a television feed.

There will also be pre-and post game analysis presented by Joe Morrison with Michel Salgado and Luis Garcia offering insights. Javier Tebas was pleased with the deal and said "we are delighted to form a team with Facebook and to bring La Liga fans on the Indian subcontinent closer to the action. La Liga is a reference point in world football and (now a large) number of pepole can watch games live free through Facebook."
