Atletico Madrid will pay Celta Vigo up to €11m for Jonny, then loan him out to Wolves for the upcoming season

Jonny Otto's future is very close to being resolved. Atletico Madrid and Celta Vigo are close to agreeing the permanent transfer of the full back for around €7m, plus another €4m in various incentive-based bonuses.

The fullback, however, won't be playing his football at the Wanda Metropolitano next season. With Filipe Luis and Lucas Hernandez already at the club, Atletico don't have an immediate need for another left back. Instead they will loan him out to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Midlands team, managed by former Valencia coach Nuno Espirito Santos, are always keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid's transfer business. This won't be the first player to leave Madrid to spend time in England, as Wolves already brought in Diogo Jota last season.

Jonny is training away from teammates as Celta following his refusal to sign a new contract there. With 12 months left on his existing deal, the club are happy to sell this summer to avoid losing the left back for free next year.
