Luis Enrique is back on the bench and he's doing it big style. The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed him as the new Spain coach on a two-year deal, replacing interim manager Fernando Hierro, who left Sunday.

The former Barcelona boss will start work immediately.

"The decision was unanimous," said RFEF president Luis Rubiales. "I like his commitment. He rejected better monetary offers to coach Spain."

"Next week the coach will be presented officially," said the RFEF in a statement. "Rubiales has thanked him for taking charge of the national team."

The decision to appoint Lucho was unanimous; he became the clear favourite and there was no 'casting' session. Quique Sanchez Flores and Michel were other candidates but the Federation always wanted Lucho. The idea is he takes over until after Euro 2020, depending on results.
