Cristiano has named the players he expects will take over from Messi and him in the future of the world football

Cristiano Ronaldo has analysed the panorama of the football world and given his opinion who will lead the new generation of elite footballers. In declarations to 'World Soccer' on BeIN Sports France he indicated that his Real Madrid teammate, Marco Asensio, is destined to leave his mark on football and inherit the throne left by Lionel Messi and himself.

Barcelona's number ten and the Portuguese striker continue to have their finger on the pulse when it comes to the best player in the world, a rivalry which has stretched over a decade now. Ronaldo, at 33, and Messi, nearly 31, will soon pass the torch onto the new stars of world football. Cristiano has now chosen his successor.

Cristiano Ronaldo, aside from mentioning Asensio, named a group of players who he believes could also be in the running for the title of best footballer in the world.  That group is led by Neymar, although he mentions Kylian Mbappe, Eden Hazard, Marcus Rashford and Ousmane Dembele too.
