The Portuguese superstar doesn't understand how there's money to sign Neymar but not to renew his contract

Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't like the fact that Neymar is continuously linked with a move to Real Madrid and even less so when certain sections of the media are suggesting that Real Madrid should sell the Portuguese international this summer.

More than his destabilising comments following the Champions League Final, opening the door to a possible exit from Madrid, Cristiano is one of a few in Madrid who wouldn't welcome Neymar to the club.

When Cristiano was asked about the Brazilian international arriving to Madrid, he was significantly cold on the idea. "The best players are already at Real Madrid."

CRISTIANO'S TAX PROBLEMS

As you can probably guess, part of the reason Cristiano was angry and responded this way when asked about Neymar, is because of the money involved. The fact Real Madrid are willing to part with up to €300m to bring Neymar in but at the same time won't consider offering Cristiano a better contract upsets him. The club are also unwilling to get involved in Cristiano's tax issues with the Spanish government.

In fact, Cristiano feels his salary is lagging behind that of Neymar and others. The Portuguese star earns €23m per season at Real Madrid whereas Neymar is currently on €37m at PSG. And it's clear the Brazilian wouldn't leave Paris to earn less elsewhere.

DANGER, DANGER

It's also clear that Neymar has the footballing talent and international stardom to take away the spotlight from Cristiano if he signs for Real Madrid.

Even though Madrid's club president, Florentino Perez, isn't willing to give in to Cristiano's demands it appears as if the situation has calmed down in the last few days. Eduardo Inda told everyone on 'El Chiringuito' that the topic was "on the right path."

Cristiano hopes that he won't be outshone in Russia 2018 like he was in the final in Kiev, that time by another 'Galacico', Gareth Bale. This could be the last significant international tournament of his career.

All this while Madrid fans keep waiting for Cristiano to explain what his future holds after talking about his time at Madrid in the past tense. His current contract runs until 2021 and his buyout clause is €1,000m.
