Ceferin allegedly lied over his experience to be able to run for the UEFA job

Aleksander Ceferin, recently re-elected as UEFA president for another four years, is at the centre of controversy following an investigation by Slovenian media outlet Prava, which accuses the UEFA chief of lying on his CV while competing for the leadership of Europe's most important football institution and which would have invalidated his election as president in 2016.

"Aleksander Ceferin is very lucky that nothing has ever been written about his life in the Slovenian media," wrote Prava, who continued: "Most of the world media and the Slovenian media never referred to the dubious acts committed since Ceferin's first candidacy for UEFA president.

According to Prava, in the letter to the UEFA committee, Ceferin claimed that he was part of the Slovenian FA for five years when he was part of the Olimpija Bezigrad team between 2006 and 2011, but this turns out not to be true.

An important point for a UEFA president, as such experience is needed to qualify for the position he currently holds and to which he has recently been re-elected to continue.
