Sergio Agüero could return to Independiente, according to his father

Sergio Agüero, who currently plays for Manchester City and has a contract until 2021, sees his future in Argentina at the end of his existing deal. His father, Leonel Castillo, told 'Radio Villa Trinidad' that Sergio could return to his old club Independiente as soon as this summer.

"He renewed for two more years but in July, if he has to come, he'll come here (to Independiente). But it doesn't only depend on him either. It depends on the club and whoever is the coach at that time, and If they call him or not," added Leonel.

Aguero has won three Premier League titles, four Carabao Cups and two Community Shields. Although he still remains an important part of Pep Guardiola's squad, it appears talks over his long term future will happen sooner rather than later.

"We haven't heard anything (from Independiente) and as such we aren't waiting to see if he comes this year or at another time. Sergio can't say: 'I want to come back!' You need to look at who is part of the coaching staff, if they want him, if they need him. We have a good relationship with the Moyanos (Independiente president). We're fine but we need to start a conversation and see when they want him to return," he added.

Kun's father obviously has a clear opinion on what the future holds for the City striker but the final decision will be up to Sergio and no one else. "If they call him, he'll start to think it over or at least put a date as to when he'd like to return. If he stays an extra year, and returns in 2020, or if he comes back this June. It all depends on him."
