Bayern's CEO admitted the club have too many midfielders

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spoke about Thiago Alcantara's situation at the club and the chances of him leaving this summer.

Rummenigge said that "no club has come to us" to talk about the Spain international and "he has not" asked about a move, either.

However, Rummenigge left the door open to a possible move by admitting that "we have a lot of midfielders in the team," which could be a motive for Thiago to leave.

Bayern's CEO added that depending on the system the club use "we only have three or four positions for new players." This 'overbooking' could lead to a number of departures.

Meanwhile, Rummenigge also spoke about Jerome Boateng and Robert Lewandowski, confirming that the club are willing to negotiate the former's sale.

But he said Polish striker Lewandowski, whose agent says he wants out of the German champions, "must complete the contract he signed until 2021."
