RB Leipzig seeking January loan for ex-Barça man Ilaix Moriba

The teenager has not played as much as he would have liked in Germany

Ilaix Moriba's German adventure has not proven easy so far. A lack of minutes at RB Leipzig has slowed his growth and the Bundesliga club believe a January loan could be best for his development.

Bild explain that the club are already looking at possible options that would allow Ilaix to play more regularly between now and the summer.

Ilaix, 18, has hardly played since leaving Barça in a deal that could be worth up to €20 million. He has played just 100 minutes in all competitions so far: 60 in the Champions League, 10 in the cup and 30 in the league.

Much more was expected after he burst onto the scene at Barça last season, making 18 appearances under Ronald Koeman and scoring one goal.

However, he decided not to renew his deal and, with his contract due to expire in 2022, Barça agreed to let him leave for Leipzig.
