Paulinho is given a hero's welcome as he arrives in China
The Brazilian midfielder, who won't have a summer break, landed in China and was swamped by Guangzhou fans
The former Barcelona player, Paulinho Becerra, has landed on Chinese soil as he prepares for the new season with Guangzhou Evergrande. The Brazilian international returns to the club which Barcelona signed him from last summer.
Paulinho was given the red carpet treatment as he arrived in Canton and was welcomed like a true hero by the club's fans. His arrival in China has increased expectations at Guangzhou and their fans can't wait to see him wearing their shirt again in the Chinese Super League.
Paulinho will begin work at Guangzhou immediately and as such will have to endure another summer without a break. The player arrived at Barcelona last summer when the Chinese League was already underway and now, where he'd ordinary have a summer holiday, he is instead being thrown in to his new team's plans straight away.
