The former Barça goalkeeper has signed a deal until 2020 with an option to extend it by a further year

Víctor Valdés has returned to FC Barcelona. The former number one has put down his gloves and will instead coach the Juvenil A side next season. Valdes was chosen after his excellent work with Moratalaz.

The ex-goalkeeper has signed a deal until 2020 with an option to extend that by another season. The agreement was signed alongside Silvio Elías, Jose Mari Bakero and Guillermo Amor.

The Juvenil A season begins their preseason on the 29th July and will be the first side to play at the new Johan Cruyff Stadium on the 27th August against Ajax's Juvenil side. The match is in honour of the man who the stadium is named after and who left his mark on both clubs.

Josep Maria Bartomeu announced a few weeks ago that talks were ongoing to bring the former goalkeeper back to Barça and now that contract has been signed.

Valdes is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in Barça's history and represented the club 539 times in official matches. He won five Zamora trophies and never looked back after being promoted to the first team in August 2002. He shared the role alongside Roberto Bonano in the 2002/03 season before becoming the first choice stopper the next season until he left the club in 2014.
