Valverde and Di Francesco faced each other last season

Ernesto Valverde and Eusebio Di Francesco, the coaches of Barcelona and Roma respectively, met in the Europa League last season. 

The two managers now meet in the quarterfinals of the Champions League after their two sides were paired together on Friday. 

Last season when they met, though, they were in charge of different sides, with Valverde coaching Athletic Club and Di Francesco at Sassuolo. 

They met in the group stages of the Europa League, with the Italian side winning 3-0 in Italy and the Basques winning 3-2 at San Mames. 

Barça will start the latest meeting between the two coaches as clear favourites as they are unbeaten in La Liga and the Champions League this season. 

Roma are third in the Italian top flight, 14 points back from second-placed Napoli and have lost six league games. 

The first leg will take place at Camp Nou on April 4 (Wednesday) and the second leg is scheduled for April 10 in Rome (Tuesday).
