Barça sold two players, signed three new additions and two more with one eye on the future

After securing the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo, it became the most active January transfer window in FC Barcelona's history. Although the signings didn't reach the amount spend last January on Philippe Coutinho, it has involved a lot of players both joining and leaving the club.

Aside from Frenkie De Jong has been secured for next season (€75m + €11m on variables), Barça have brought in two players on loan (Murillo and Kevin Prince Boateng), completed the signing of another (Todibo) and signed another who has gone on loan to Real Betis (Emerson).

January also saw Munir join Sevilla and Denis Suarez sign for Arsenal on loan.

Over the last few years Barça have never been involved in so many winter transfer window deals. One of the most memorable was the signing of Edgar Davids on loan from Juventus in the 2003/04 season. The Dutch midfielder helped changed the dynamic of the group.

There was also the 1997/98 season when the two brothers, Frank and Ronald De Boer, joined the club.
