'SER': Real Madrid join the race to land Ajax defender De Ligt
A number of Europe's top clubs are fighting over the Dutch international
The competition to sign Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt grows by the minute. Barcelona will not have it easy as they attempt to bring in the young Ajax centre-back. Real Madrid have now joined the list of hopefuls, according to the show 'El Larguero' on la SER.
De Ligt will be one of the stars of the knockout tie in the Champions League round of 16 between Ajax and Madrid next year. Half of Europe's big clubs want to sign the Dutch international, who will have a big shop window to show off his quality.
Barça have made him their No.1 centre-back target for the summer. They also want his teammate, midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

De Ligt has numerous offers on the table already, although Juventus are thought to be the favourites to land him as things stand.
