Ronald Koeman kicks off over Ilaix Moriba situation

The coach is not happy with the midfielder and his people for being greedy

It’s evident that Ilaix Moriba will no longer play for Barca. Ronald Koeman explained the situation and showed his annoyance with the player and his people. “I spoke to Ilaix three or four weeks ago,” said the coach. “More as a person than a coach. His situation is horrible because he’s 18 and he’s not playing. I know what the club offered him and it seems to me to be very good for a boy his age, but it seems he and his people don’t think so.”

Koeman explained that the midfielder and his entourage only care about the money.

“My advice is that, now, at his age, money is not the most important thing. He should keep playing at a good level. For me it would be the best thing but the player and his people think otherwise. I am very disappointed with him. At 18 money is not the important thing. Last year he was with us and he played, we bet on him.”

Ilaix must leave in this window, with Barca wanting 15m euros for him, or face a year sitting out football, not playing for the first team or Barca B.
