Mazinho, Rafinha's father and agent, is disappointed that a move to Inter Milan appears unlikely after his son settled so quickly to life in Italy

Mazinho, Rafinha's father and agent, is disappointed that his son won't be able to stay at Inter Milan following a successful spell on loan there from Barcelona. With the Serie A team competing in the Champions League next season it appeared like a match made in heaven but the lack of progress, and subsequent frustration, has meant that Rafinha will return to Barcelona rather than Milan this summer.

"He felt really good at Inter. From the first moment the public supported him. Unfortunately, there's been nothing since to suggest Inter will make it a permanent deal. It's a shame because it would've been important for him to have played in the Champions League with them after helping earn their place in the competition," Mazinho told 'La Gazzetta'. "The agreement between Inter and Barça expires on the 5th July. My son would return right now but it won't happen. Maybe, if they had really wanted him to stay, they would've moved quickly and with conviction. Now it's important to choose another club."

Mazinho is in contract with Barcelona to evaluate the best option for both parties. "We're talking but we are still yet to find a solution or decide where he's going to play." Rafinha's father also said it wasn't for the lack of offers. "We have plenty of offers. Rafinha has shown at Inter what he's capable of and that he's physically sound. This is all thanks to Spalletti, a great coach who we will always be grateful to. My telephone doesn't stop ringing. We're evaluating the offers which have come in from the Premier League, LaLiga, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1."

"There are also offers from Italian teams but we were waiting to see if Inter made a move first.  Now we need to look for a new team as quickly as possible. I'll take care of the contract and it's Barcelona who will decide on the asking price," added Mazinho.
