With Arthur's pending move to Barça, he won't play for Gremio again
The Brazilian is continuing to train alongside his teammates so that he arrives in top physical condition ahead of preseason with Barcelona's first team
Arthur Melo won't play for Gremio again according to the Brazilian press. This decision goes hand in hand with the information which SPORT revealed first: Barcelona and Gremio have reached an agreement to bring forward Arthur's move to the Camp Nou for this summer. Although, as yet, there hasn't been an official announcement confirming the latest development.
Melo will continue training at the club until the beginning of July when he will fly out to Barcelona in order to finalise his contract and begin preseason training with the first team squad.
The operation is unlikely to be confirmed until the 30th June in order for Barcelona to be able to put the transfer on next season's accounts. This is to avoid any potential problems with UEFA over Financial Fair Play.
Meanwhile Arthur continues to train as normal with Gremio because he wants to arrive at Barcelona in the best condition possible.
Gremio have a friendly match with Corinthians on the 8th July and their first official match takes place on the 18th against Atletico-MG. At the moment the idea is that Arthur won't be part of either squad.
