The young midfielder could have a first-team role to play in the coming years

Xavi Hernandez gave Aleix Garrido his debut on 1 April against Elche at the Martínez Valero, where he played the last six minutes.

Since then, his name has echoed loudly among the Barcelona supporters who do not follow grassroots football on a regular basis.

At the end of that same month, the midfielder from Ripoll signed a contract renewal until 30 June 2025 and Barça tied down one of those players who, even in just six minutes, you can see has the style of so many generations of midfielders who have become great wearing Blaugrana.

There are even those who see in the way he moves something of Pedri... Xavi asked him not to lose a ball and he didn't.

He is only 19 years old and it was time to make an effort to continue counting on him, although Garrido never had any doubts about it.

Not even the fact that several major clubs have been informed of his performances, evolution and ability to grow saw him waver.

Among them are Arsenal, but they are not the only club with reports on the youngster whose dream, like most players, remains to succeed at the club of which he is a fan and which has seen him grow since he was eight years old after arriving in 2012.
