Philippe Coutinho working hard for the Ronald Koeman cause

Philippe Coutinho has signed for Barcelona again. Two matches into the season and the Brazilian looks like the player Barcelona made their record signing. He is working hard for the Ronald Koeman cause, hyperactive in attack and committed in defence. He should still keep growing, but he's on the right path.

Coutinho got the assist for Ansu Fati's goal and even though he was taken off after 71 minutes, it was because he worked hard. He was one of the most active players for Barca, looking electric, improving each play he got involved in and leaving behind the apathetic displays he showed in the 18-19 season.

It seems like they were mental problems. He had his head down and a worrying demeanour. Today his body language shows the opposite. He's motivated, hopeful and has the faith of the coach.

Coutinho fits much better into a 4-2-3-1 than a 4-3-3. He likes to move between lines and he's showing that in this set-up. Griezmann hasn't got started, Dembele generates doubts, but Coutinho is taking his second chance well, with hard work. Great news, and for many, unexpected.
