The Brazilian was named man of the match as Barça won the Joan Gamper Trophy

Philippe Coutinho has an important role at Barcelona again. The Brazilian has been brought back into the fold by new coach Ronald Koeman and has impressed in preseason.

He scored in Barça's first two friendlies and in their third, a 1-0 win against Elche in Saturday's Joan Gamper Trophy, he was named man of the match.

"I'm feeling really good," Coutinho said after the game at Camp Nou. "I missed playing at this pitch. We have one week to go until it starts for real and we're working hard to get off to a good start.

"We haven't had much time for preseason, but we're getting better, every day working a little more. We're getting used to what the boss wants from us and we still have a week to go."

On a personal level, Coutinho has the chance to win back the Barça fans after things soured before his loan move to Bayern Munich last season.

"I am really looking forward to making sure things go well," he added. "I am really motivated. I came back to Barcelona early to get back to training and I want to work hard so things go well on the pitch this season.

"Everyone is working hard, focused, getting used to the way of training. We're training hard and we hope that it's going to be a good year for us."
